4H Working Ranch Horse Contest

Come and watch 4-H youth put their horse through their paces as they maneuver designated tasks.

Hometown Timed Event Rodeo

Saturday August 13
7:00 pm

Local Cowboys and Cowgirls compete in rodeo events such as Calf Roping, Team Roping, Breakaway Roping, Ribbon Roping, and Barrel Racing. This Event is Free to the public.

4H Horse Show

Monday August 15
8:00 am

Horse Show will be held on Monday August 16th starting at 8:00 a.m. in the Rodeo Arena. Close to 50 4-H youth will show off their equestrian skills in various performance classes. You won’t want to miss this event.

4H Dog Show

Monday August 15
10:30 am

4-H Dog Show Monday August 16th at 10:30 a.m. At the dog show, you will watch 4-H youth work with their dogs putting them through different obstacles and tasks. Come and watch these talented youngsters and their dogs strut their stuff!

Queen Princess Breakfast

Queen & Princess contestants model, perform and speak as part of the competition. Takes place at Morey's Restaurant

Dairy Fitting and Showing and Quality August 17th at 8:00 a.m. The 4-H/FFA dairy youth will have a busy morning as they show their young dairy heifers. Can you pick up the best bovine at the fair?

4H/FFA Sheep

Sheep Quality August 17th at 1:00 p.m. 4-H and FFA youth show the lambs they have been working with all summer. They hope their feeding program has produced top quality lambs.

Entertainment - Free Stage Gazego

The Free Stage offers entertainers a chance to show off their talents to the public. Located in the Food Court area, patrons can relax with a refreshing drink, while they listen to their favorite music.

Turkey Fitting and Showing and Quality August 17th 5:00 p.m. Do you want to see turkeys strut their stuff? If so, plan on attending this event and watch while 4-H youth show off their feathered friends.

4H/FFA Sheep Fitting

Wednesday August 17th - 1:00 pm

Sheep Fitting and Showing August 18th 1:00 p.m. at the Outdoor Livestock Arena. This showmanship event requires 4-H/FFA youth to be alert at all times. The cooperation between the lamb and their owner is crucial in this event. 

4H Rabbits

Wednesday August 17th - 6:00 pm

Rabbit Fitting and Showing and Quality August 18th 6:00 p.m. A real crowd pleaser for all ages is the Rabbit Show. The 4-H youth show off their cute and cuddly projects before the judge.

Team Ranch Sorting

Wed 17th - 7:00 pm

Team Sorting is an event where teams of three on horseback sort ten steers from one pen into another in numerical order. The team which sorts the greatest number of cattle in the least amount of time is the winner. Team Sorting is one of the more entertaining events at the Fair, and is Free to the public @ the Rodeo Arena.

4H/FFA Beef

Thursday August 18th - 8:30 am

Beef Market Quality on August 19th 8:30 a.m. Come watch the 4-H/FFA youth as they see if their steer “meats” the judges qualifications for a prime beef project.

4H/FFA Swine

Thursday August 18th - 9:00 am

Swine Market Quality on August 19th, 9:00 a.m. This little piggy, (and their 4-H/FFA owner), went to the market quality show. Come and find out which little piggy finishes as a Grand Champion.

4H Bowl

Thursday August 18th - 2:00 pm

4-H Bowl-August 19th at 2:00 p.m. Are you smarter than a 4-H’er? Come and find out as different age classes compete regarding “all around” knowledge of the 4-H program.

4H/FFA Pet Goat

Thursday August 18th - 5:00 pm

Pet Goat Quality and Showmanship on August 19th at 5:00 p.m. New this year to our 4-Her’s, is a pet goat project. The youth are excited to try something new as they show off their new pets.

Rodeo

 
Dodge PRCA Rodeo offers three nights of fast paced rodeo action. Riding, Roping, Bucking, Wrestling, and just plain getting down in the dirt fun. Plus a Wild Cow Ride held each night. See Rodeo Page for more info.

4H/FFA Swine

Swine Fitting and Showing on Friday, August 20th at 9:00 a.m. You can’t halter a pig so it takes a truly talented 4-H/FFA youth with quick feet to show off these animals. Come and grab a ring side seat as the attempt to keep their pig between themselves and the judge.

Para-Mutual Horse Races

Two days of Quarter Horse, Thoroughbred, and Mixed Breed races, with Pari-Mutual wagering. One Saddle Horse race is also held each day, open to local cowboys.

4H/FFA Round Robin

2:00 pm

4-H Round Robin Friday August 20th at 2:00 p.m. The Round Robin is the champion of champion’s showmanship event. This contest is for the top showman is each of the large market animal projects and horse. These 4-H/FFA youth rotate as they show each of the different species as they try to earn this prestigious award. This is an event not to be missed!

4H Awards Ceremony

4-H Awards Friday, August 20th 5:00 p.m. The awards ceremony is for 4-H youth who have excelled in numerous projects. Come and support them as they receive their various awards.

Buyers Breakfast Saturday, August 21st at 7:00 a.m. This breakfast is sponsored by the Market Animal Sale Committee for the Market Animal Sale buyers. This is just a small token of our appreciation as they continue to support our 4-H/FFA youth.
